John Gotts doesn't always carry a gun...

Except, yes, I do.
An interesting fact is that in states like Idaho, where the majority of citizens carry guns, we have the 6th lowest rate of violent crime: 230.3 per 100,000. In fact, if you look at the states with the strictest gun laws, they tend to have the highest rates of violent crime and murder. California had nearly 2,000 murders, Illinois had about 1,000 and New York had about 600 in 2017 while Idaho barely registered at 30.
Perhaps it's because when people are told to turn in their guns only the honest, law-abiding citizens do, leaving them at the mercy of the criminals who keep their guns. Also, it is highly likely in Idaho that if you pull a gun on someone, or try to commit a violent crime, they are packing and will shoot you or anyone witnessing the crime will pull their gun and shoot the perpetrator. This tends to keep people on good behavior vs. getting shot. In Idaho about 57% of adults carry a gun, so the chances a criminal will meet deadly resistance is more likely than not. Vegas has weaker odds of taking your money than a criminal has of not getting killed when they commit a violent crime.
I love Idaho and I love my guns. They are with me and my wife at all times, to protect our lives and the lives of those around us. God bless America and our 2nd Amendment.
